I’m a Vet and I Just Bonded Out on a Misdemeanor Possession Charge. Should I Go to Vet Court? If So, How Can I Get In?

Hi Aric,
Thank you for your service! Veteran’s Treatment Court was established because veterans have selflessly served their country but may have unique concerns that should be addressed in a compassionate manner. For example, veterans tend to have higher rates of mental health concerns (such as depression and anxiety) which could lead to an increased tendency to self-medicate with drugs or alcohol. The overall goal should be rehabilitative rather than punitive. Please speak to your attorney about whether or not Veterans Treatment Court is your best option. This is not something you need to go through alone; we will be happy to help you through this process.
