PAWS Act Could Be a Big Help to Veterans – The Sun Chronicle
Congress is considering a bill that would create a five-year pilot program to provide service dogs and veterinary health insurance to post-9/11 veterans who have been diagnosed with PTSD. Representative Ron DeSantis of Florida introduced the PAWS Act in an effort to decrease the high rate of suicide among veterans. According to the VA, at least 22 veterans commit suicide every day.
