Remembering Pearl Harbor

There are special days of remembrance throughout the year that do not receive much recognition because they are not official federal holidays for which we get time off. Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is one of those days, possibly because some may say it is covered by Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

In 1994 Congress designated December 07th as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Three months later, then-President Clinton issued a proclamation officially making December 07th National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. It is codified under 36 U.S.C. § 129.

This Friday is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Flags should be flown at half-staff on Friday.

So, in time for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, and hopefully for your reading pleasure, attached is an article that I just wrote just for ya’ll.
