A Texas judge is expanding a program that brings court to veterans facing criminal charges in five countries near Dallas. The program also seeks to divert certain veterans into treatment programs instead of taking them to court. Judge John Roach, Jr. said that the court is a first of its kind, and he hopes that it will be replicated in other rural areas without public transportation, where getting to hearings can be a challenge, especially for veterans.
