Last week, President Donald Trump signed the Department of Veterans Affairs Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act of 2017, which was sponsored by Senator Marco Rubio of Florida. The new law creates a Department of Veterans Affairs Accountability Office, makes it easier for the VA to fire its employees, and provides increased whistleblower protection for VA employees who report misconduct.
